In March 2003, Andrea Smith and Scott Zieher opened ZieherSmith
in a newly renovated storefront space in the heart of Chelsea to present
a welcoming forum for emerging artists working in a full-range of
media. With the capacity to feature two artists simultaneously, ZieherSmith
has, to date, presented fourteen solo shows and three group exhibitions
and received notice from The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal,
The New York Observer, The New Yorker, The New York Sun, Contemporary
Magazine, and ArtForum.com, among others. ZieherSmith is proud to be
a member of NADA, the New Art Dealer’s Alliance.
At Stray this year, ZieherSmith is presenting a show of
works on paper that includes drawing, collage, painting, and embroidery
from Javier Piñón, André Pretorius, Sally-Ann Rowland,
Stephen Bitterolf, and others.
